We have extended our successful iPhone and Android Programmer program to include design, test and practical AI – Artificial Intelligence – all the way to CoreML and ML Kit for iOS and Android. It’s in our connected phones, watches and in solutions like Apple VisionPro that we will see the power of AI systems! You will be even more sought after in the labor market!

Programmer iPhone and Android gives you the skills you need, from cross-platform design to building effective solutions in React Native and AI-supported programming in Apple’s Swift/Swift UI and Google’s Kotlin/Jetpack Compose. Plus on-device AI development with CoreML and ML Kit for best security and privacy. And much more!

You will learn how to build real apps that are in demand in the workplace. The program lasts 1.5 years, with the last semester being a workplace placement (LIA) and ending with a degree project. The program is tough with intensive studies but those who make the effort can get their reward in very attractive jobs in many different and exciting industries.

Updated curriculum for 2025/2026:

• Create cross-platform solutions using React Native.

• Graphic design for smart phones and tablets to independently create good interaction design.

• Use your new Swift/SwiftUI skills to develop for VisionPro!
• Customize and configure development tools and publish apps in relevant app stores.
• Making multilingual apps with adaptation for international markets.
• Protect user privacy and security in the apps you create.
• Work from idea to sold product and deliver with high quality within budget and timeframes
• Workplace training (LIA-Practicum) of 20 weeks is included.
• Build a large network of contacts in the mobile industry.
• Start your own business during your studies with support from our partners Drivhuset, MINC, IDEON Innovation, Lunds Nyföretagarcenter and Mindpark.

Our classrooms are located in Malmö. Lessons are normally held on Mondays and Wednesdays, with various tasks to do individually or with others between lessons. All the teachers you meet come straight from their companies and bring with them the latest production skills.

PREREQUISITES:

High school diploma with at least grade E in Mathematics 2 a/b/c and Programming 1 – or equivalent knowledge acquired in work or studies on your own. You should also have a sufficient command of English and Swedish. You will get a personal development license for Apple, a store license with Google and other things related to the training. However, you must have your own computer and mobile phone. We recommend the following: MacBook Air or a MacBook Pro with M-processor, at least 16 GB RAM, and an iPhone 14 or better that can be upgraded to iOS 19, and/or a Pixel 6 or later or other Android, such as Samsung S22 or later, which can be updated to Android 16. Malmö Yrkeshögskola has extra mobiles for those who only have iOS but not Android, or vice versa and for those who want to test.
